AccentOS will support servers based on Huawei's KunPeng processor.
Tionix Holding has entered the Developer Program 2.0 to develop an ecosystem based on Huawei's Kunpeng + Ascend processors. The purpose of the partnership is developing and implementation joint integrated solutions in Russia and around the world.
Tionix Holding, a Russian cloud solutions developer, has become a member of the Developer Program 2.0 to develop an ecosystem based on Huawei's Kunpeng + Ascend processors. Now Tionix Holding's AccentOS software complex, which implements cloud-based virtualization solutions; remote desktop service (VDI); Internet of Things (IoT) service; architecture of hybrid distributed clouds (Edge Cloud), supports Taishan servers based on KunPeng processors, built on APM architecture.
The advantages of supporting KunPeng processors in the AccentOS software package are the following factors: high energy efficiency compared to classic x86_64 processors, which is very important for large data centers, and lower cost of ownership together with high processor performance per unit compared to competitors.
Taishan server support includes:
  • Support for classic virtualization based on general-purpose operating systems Debian 10 with KVM support and a special assembly of the Russian operating system Alt Linux;
  • Support for container virtualization based on general-purpose operating systems Debian 10 and CentOS 8 with Docker support, and a special build of the Russian Alt Linux operating system with LXC support.
